WELCOME TO JYJBA

JOHN YARD JUNIOR BASEBALL ACADEMY is a not-for-profit association formed in 2023 in honour of John Yard, who founded the Hills Junior Baseball Association and has been its' Secretary for over 40 years. The academy provides affordable, high quality junior baseball development programs within the Hills area.

Our April-June program for junior baseballers aged 9 to 12 is underway at Castle Glen Res (Castle Hill) and Col Sutton Res (Winston Hills) baseball fields.

There are two age groups (9U-10U and 11U-12U) being led by accredited and highly accomplished coaches/players.

The academy will deliver a comprehensive training regimen focused on honing the abilities of existing junior players in the Hills.

Next up is our 14U and Pitcher/Catcher program for players ages 11-12.

Endorsed by the Hills Junior Baseball Association, the weekly Monday night sessions of highly-engaged coaching span two hours.

From refining fielding techniques to developing batting stances, pitching, and catcher skills, the curriculum covers all facets of the game. And through practice scrimmages and strategic gameplay sessions, participants will not only be able to showcase their newfound abilities but also acquire invaluable insights into the dynamics of baseball.

Our tailored sessions cater to currently registered players, ensuring age-appropriate instructions.

The JYJBA is committed to reinvesting all generated income back into the Hills junior baseball community. This means that every registration contributes to the future of baseball in our area, fostering more accessible and high-quality programs for players of all levels, not just the elite few.

TESTIMONIALS

"Developing kids at the grassroots level is essential for the success of baseball. This program has been meticulously designed by coaches who've been involved in the sport for years. Some of these coaches have led teams to the US, contributing back by helping young players grow. Kids not only develop their baseball skills but also gain life skills and build lasting friendships."

"Excellent value. Very professionally organised and their communication was outstanding. The coaches who were part of the program conducted themselves as pros, the encouragement advice and the drills they ran the kids through were excellent. Highly recommend to all parents with children who want their kids to improve skills and learn teamwork."

"My son thoroughly enjoyed the program and has already asked if he can attend again next year. He found the coaches friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. He can’t wait for the summer season to start so he can put into practice everything he has learnt over the past eight weeks. Thanks to the coaches, committee and organisers for providing a great program. "
